How to Make the Pink Drink, a Rum Cocktail to Help You Beet Whatever Brings You Down

In Depth

Welcome to Boozinette. This is the Pink Drink.

  • 2 oz spiced rum
  • 1/2 oz beet syrup
  • 2 dash Peychaud’s bitters
  • 2 dash orange bitters
  • 4 beets
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Slice up the beets. In a small saucepan bring all ingredients to a boil. Lower heat to medium for 30 minutes (or until beets are soft). Strain, contain, let cool and refrigerate. Use to bring things down to earth if they get too far out.

Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Stir with empathy for 25-30 seconds. Strain into a martini glass neat. Garnish with a beet slice and drink to combat the stress of dumbing down the phrase “perfectly fucking legal,” so that even the religious Reich can understand.
