  • 3/4 oz. aged dark rum
  • 3/4 oz. Elderflower liqueur
  • 3/4 oz. Maraschino liqueur
  • 3/4 oz. lemon juice
  • 1 funnel

  • Pour all liquid ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Shake like a locomotive for 10 to 12 seconds.
  • Fine strain & funnel into a 4-ounce flask.

Very excited about this, as it only requires me to obtain one new liquor (Elderflower, it's shameful that we don't own some already) and it can help me burn through my dark rum collection.

Related: I keep wanting to find a dark rum that is good enough for sipping, not just mixing. In part because I fear the bourbon shortage is nigh, and in part because rum feels nice and summery to me. So far I have yet to find any that I like. 1) suggestions and 2) do I have to spend $40 to get a sip-able rum?
