Pour all liquid ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Stir al fresco for 25-30 seconds. Fine strain into a lowball over ice. Garnish with blueberries and go outside. Your municipality’s bucolic parks are sorely missing your lachrymose sense of ennui.

DISCUSSION
What if I want to substitute raspberries for the blueberries? I really hate blueberries. Would it then be called something else?
The core recipe, though, some bourbon, some fruit syrup, the two bitters... brilliant. Simple and flawless concept. And the author is absolutely right about my city’s bucolic parks! I do not give them nearly enough tears or ennui.
